Alfred E. "Al" Davis86, of Indianapolis, entered into eternal rest on May 9, 2017. He was born on April 28, 1931, in North Carolina to the late Paul C. and Alphia A. Davis.Alfred worked for 25 + years at the Perry Township Weekly, he was a Master Printer.  He enjoyed fishing, playing poker and other card games, working on puzzles and spending time in his garden.  He would love to tell stories, and find broken down lawn mowers, fix them up and give them away.Alfred is survived by his loving wife, Charlene "Joan" Davis; five children, Butch "Al Jr." Davis, Sherry Wash, Paul Davis, Johnny Davis, and Doris Williams; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and two sisters, Jean May and Libby Bowman.Alfred was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, May 15, 2017, at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave., Indianapolis.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  He will be laid to rest in New Crown Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to .Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.ghherrmann.com.
