Alexander "Al" Paul RigglemanMOUNT VERNON: Alexander "Al" Paul Riggleman, 47, of Mount Vernon passed away unexpectedly due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Monday, July 3, 2017 at OSU Medical Center. Al was born on July 16, 1969 in Mansfield to Gary R. Riggleman and Diana J. (Weirick) Ford.Al was a 1988 Crestline graduate and a US Navy Veteran whom proudly served in the Gulf War. Al was a repair technician with Potemkin. A honorable man whom was full of character, he was genuine, kind, caring and loving to everyone he came in contact with. He was a people person and had a trait that many strive for in life and few achieve in he was non-judgemental and understanding of people. Al had traveled on his motorcycle to California with a friend and was making plans for a coast to coast trip in the near future. Al recently attended the 30th Anniversary Rolling Thunder Event in DC this past Memorial Day. Al enjoyed video games, listening to music and was a fan of the Steelers and the Buckeyes. He greatly enjoyed road trips on his motorcycle. Some of his most cherished memories were spent hiking and Sunday pancake breakfasts with his children. Al leaves behind many cherished loved ones, he is survived by his father, Gary (Beth) Riggleman of Bellville; his mother, Diana Ford of Canal Winchester; his sisters, Danielle (Les) Hughes of Lithopolis, Angela (John) Clingan of Maryland, Laura (Gerry) Brindley of Logan, and Kristina Shaw of Indianapolis; his "kids" that he cherished and had the privilege of helping to raise for the past 14 years, Chelsie (Joshua) Bosdell Harding, Derek, Heather, Jarrett, Ricki and Marissa Tharp; his nieces and nephews whom affectionately referred to him as "Uncle Booh", Devon Braden, Samantha, and Kenzie Hughes, John, Kayleigh and Zac Clingan, Adam and David Brindley, James Shaw, Dallas Such, and Kelly (David) Kieffer; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his step father, David Ford; and nephew, Michael Hughes.The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 1:00-5:00 p.m at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Rd. A funeral service officiated by Celebrant Mark Dettmer will be held at 2:00 p.m. with an additional hour visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Mansfield Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Rolling Thunder, Wounded Warrior or Navy MWR (Morale, Welfare and Recreation).
