AUDREY MARIE SIEBEN June 27, 1958 - August 29, 2017 With heavy hearts, we say farewell to our daughter, sister, auntie, great-auntie, niece, friend, and loving partner, Audrey Sieben.Audrey passed away after a battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 29th, 2017 at Providence St. Joseph hospital in Burbank California, where she was a nurse.Audrey was born on June 27th, 1958, the first of 7 children in the Sieben household, and the first grandchild for the Rolheiser clan. She grew up in Salvador, Saskatchewan, graduated from Denzil Sacred Heart school, and received her Registered Nurse designation from Kelsey Institute in 1978.In 1980, Audrey and a few of her friends moved to California for an "adventure" to practice their profession in the warm southern climate. In 1981, Audrey met Mark Ross and the California adventure continued for the next 36 years - she never did move back to Canada... She and Mark settled in Santa Clarita.Audrey's favorite thing was to escape the city and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, preferably tenting, with a crackling fire at night. Audrey's annual trips home to Canada were spent catching up with friends (especially her BFF Lynn Zinger), weeding (and raiding) her Mom's garden, playing Canasta and Scrabble, and spoiling her nieces, nephews and godchildren (Raelene, Darrel and Shelby).Audrey loved being a nurse, and she was the best according to her co-workers at St. Joe's. She had brief stints in management, but Audrey's passion was one-on-one patient care. In 2003, she received the Mission Spirit Award from St. Joseph's, in recognition of Audrey's competency, compassion, and leadership.Selfless, compassionate, nurturing, humble, gentle, generous - a few adjectives that describe our Audrey.Left behind to miss Audrey and cherish her memory are her partner of 36 years, Mark Ross, her mother, Leona Sieben and siblings, their partners and children: Rick & Kandy (Amber), Marilyn & Glenn (Shelby, Cierra, Austin), Maureen & Bryan, Chris & Serena (Devon, Joel), Darren & Wendi (Brittany/ Tyson, Blayze, Landyn), her great-niece Alexys, her BFF Lynn Zinger and kitties Missy & Itty Bitty.Audrey is predeceased by her father Dave, brother Dave Jr., and numerous aunts and uncles.Audrey's funeral service and interment is planned for Saturday, October 7th at Denzil Sacred Heart Catholic church. There will be a memorial service for her at Providence St. Joseph's in Burbank on September 20th.No flowers please.
